Google control the look and feel of Android Wear

Companies that make Android Wear, Android Auto, and Android TV products won't be allowed to dramatically alter the design and user experience of Google's latest software. Some customization will be permitted; they'll be able to add custom apps, services, and other small touches, but changing up the overall look and feel is expressly forbidden. "The UI is more part of the product in this case," said David Burke, Google’s engineering director, in an interview with Ars Technica.

That's a clear shift away from what we've seen with Android on smartphones, where OEMs have for years taken design liberties and covered up Google's work with their own custom "skins" like TouchWiz and Sense. But Mountain View is taking a very different stance as it begins a push to put Android in your car, in your living room, and on your wrist. One key benefit of this decision is that Google itself will handle software updates, so everyone will receive them much faster — and at the same time. Your Android Wear smartwatch won't get bogged with useless or redundant software, and it won't be left in update limbo.

"We want to just have a very consistent user experience, so if you have one TV in one room and another TV in another room and they both say Android TV, we want them to work the same and look the same." Preventing confusion makes sense — particularly in the case of Android Auto, where consistency is key to avoiding distractions and keeping your eyes focused on the road. "The device manufacturers can brand it, and they might have services that they want to include with it, but otherwise it should be the same," Burke added. So a set-top box you buy six months from now might not say Android TV on the box, but there will be no mistaking the underlying software once you turn it on. Google is making sure of that.

Google's Quickoffice productivity app pulled from Android and iOS

Google has announced that it will remove its popular Quickoffice app from iOS and Android two years after acquiring the popular Microsoft Office competitor.

In a blog post on its Google Apps updates page, Google wrote: "With the integration of Quickoffice into the Google Docs, Sheets and Slides apps, the Quickoffice app will be unpublished from Google Play and the App Store in the coming weeks."

The company added that existing users can continue to use the app, but no features will be added and new users won't be able to install it.
Expected end

Google's recent announcement - that it was bringing in some notable feature updates to Google Drive such as improved compatibility with Microsoft Office documents - has made Quickoffice all but disposable.

Its demise wasn't entirely unexpected. Google split Drive into Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, taking on Apple's Pages, Numbers and Keynote by providing a more coherent approach to productivity in a bid to take on Microsoft apps that also allow the editing of documents for free.

Please treat others the same way u treat me.I can see the love you guys have for me, and I respect that. I request you to show the same love towards others as well… Thank you..”, posted the actor.

Tragedy of Andhra students in Himachal Pradesh

Twenty six tourists including twenty four engineering students from Hyderabad were missing after a river surge near Manali in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. The incident took place after extra water was released from the Larji Dam at around 6 PM.

The students were from VNR Vignana Jyothi College of Engineering and Technology. A faculty member and a tour manager were also missing.

Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kumar said that the students were coming from Manali and stopped to take photographs near the river when the surge took place.

He said, "A total of 65 students and faculty members from the engineering college in Hyderabad were on a trip to Manali. They were returning from there. The incident happened near a place in Mandi district called Thalaut when they got down at the riverside of Beas to enjoy it. Suddenly the water level rose and 24 students went missing some of them are feared washed away."

According to information available with authorities in Shimla, 18 boys and six girls were feared to have drowned.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, "I am deeply pained over the tragic incident of engineering students getting drowned in a flash flood in Himachal Pradesh. I have instructed the authorities to dispatch a rescue team for immediate action and save precious lives trapped in the floods."

The discharge of water increased suddenly and caught everyone unawares as the Project authorities released the water apparently without any warning.

Massive search operations have been launched to trace the missing students but there was no success due to darkness.

According to sources, a special police team is being sent to Himachal Pradesh to help with the search operation. The services of divers have been requisitioned as part of rescue efforts.

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha is reportedly leaving for Himachal Pradesh on Monday morning.

According to reports, the incident has sparked protests in the area with people blocking a local highway.

About 20 students, who did not go to the river bank, were safe but were in a state of panic.

Efforts were underway to get the details of missing students from them, SR Mardi, ADGP(CID) said.

People living along the two sides of the river bank downstream of the dam have been alerted to inform the police about any person sighted by them.

Larji Dam is located on the Beas river near Mandi, which is on highway leading towards Manali. Due to the hot weather, the water from the dam was released without warning.

From the close sources we heard that KCR told them, “You come to me for support but why didn’t you condemn when Pawan Kalyan criticized me and my family. You should make good films to reach a dominating position over Andhra producers who are currently ruling the industry.
